Archaeopteryx is a Java based and free application based on the forester libaries for the visualization of annotated phylogenetic trees.
Archaeopteryx can be used both as applets (ArchaeopteryxE, ArchaeopteryxA) and as a standalone application.

Archaeopteryx is a cross-platform utility capable of running on any operating system that comes with Java support (e.g. Mac OS X, Windows, Linux).

· This version attempts to alleviate the issue of poor graphics performance in Apple Macintosh. Despite this, please note that the standalone version of Archaeopteryx tree analysis tool is officially supported for Linux and Windows only.
