Tubbler For Mac

The YouTube video sharing website is an endless resource of media content, interesting videos, or music, but since it uses the Adobe Flash player, keeping it in your web browser might take a toll on your system’s performance.

Tubbler is a minimalist Mac app that enables you to play your YouTube videos separately, allowing you use your web browser for what it was intended: navigating the internet. Note that within Tubbler you have the option not to use the Adobe Flash player to render the videos.

To get started with Tubbler, all you have to do is drag and drop the YouTube URL you want to visualize on top of the app’s main window, which can be easily resized to match your own needs.

Tubbler comes with an autohiding playback bar that includes a volume slider, play / pause / jump back / jump forward buttons, a Settings menu that allows you to change both the playback rate and its quality, and a full screen button.

For your convenience, Tubbler enables you to create playlists by dragging and dropping multiple links on top of the app’s main window. Within the playlist panel you can easily rearrange the entries, while the playback bar allows you to change the play mode (repeat all, repeat one, or shuffle).

The good news is that Tubbler is capable to memorize your playlist between sessions, so you do not have to make the adjustments each time you reopen the app. However, you cannot create multiple playlists.

Tubbler offers you the possibility to playback YouTube videos without having to use the Adobe Flash player: as a result, you will have the option to direct your resources to more important tasks.
