StreamCloud for Mac
StreamCloud is a well-designed and very easy-to-use Mac OS X application that enables you to enjoy your SoundCloud stream directly from your Mac’s status bar.
Enjoy a constant stream of music from your SoundCloud
Thanks to StreamCloud you can now listen to your favorite artists and control the audio player with Mac’s media keys. In order to use StreamCloud you first need to grant it access to your SoundCloud account.
StreamCloud comes with a simple and intuitive interface that makes it a breeze to go through your SoundCloud stream and find the song you are looking for. The bottom toolbar helps you play, pause and jump from one track to another.
Take control over the playlist using the default media keys
On top of that, StreamCloud allows you to adjust the sound volume and enable the shuffle playback mode or repeat the entire list or only the currently played track. The best part about StreamCloud is that you can reload your stream and view new songs with just a few keystrokes.
The same result can be achieved by accessing the Edit menu where you can find the Reload Tracks function. Unfortunately, StreamCloud manages to add a new status bar icon every time you hit refresh until the application freezes and crashes.
Automatically scrobbles your songs to Last.fm
From StreamCloud’s status bar menu, you can view the artwork along with the name and artist of the currently played song and take control over the playback with ease. On top of that, StreamCloud offers you the option to scrobble your songs to Last.fm.
By accessing the Preferences window you can login using your Last.fm credentials and enable StreamCloud to automatically scrobble songs for you.
In conclusion, StreamCloud is a light and user-oriented application that brings your SoundCloud stream to your Mac. Hopefully future updates will fix StreamCloud’s problems and bring new features.
