Efficient team communication solutions are essential to ensure the success of any of your projects.

Speak is a minimalist yet useful OS X application that enables you to establish audio, video, and screen sharing sessions with any member of your team.

To start using the Speak service, you must either register for a free account with your email address, or you can authorize the app to use your Slack account. The next step is to invite your colleagues to your Speak team.

Note that invitation notifications are sent only by email: the user does not receive an alert within the Speak app. To join a team, you must input the code received by email in the Speak Preferences.

The best part is that, once everything is up and running, you will be able to see the status of all your team members and initiate communication sessions via a small sidebar placed on the left side of your screen.

Working with the Speak application proves to be quite straightforward: just click on the contact’s icon and you will be able to see all the available communication options. Even though the screen sharing panel is initially quite small, you can easily switch to full-screen mode.

However, Speak does not integrate text communication solutions, you cannot share files, and you cannot record your conversations, at least not without using third party apps.

Speak comes with a straightforward workflow for quickly establishing audio and video calls with multiple team members, but you do not have the option to record the meetings.

You can also use the app to make presentations by sharing your screen: other users can see the desktop but cannot interact with it.

On the other hand, if you need to share files, you will have to rely on a third party solution.
