Rest Areas for Mac
Rest Areas is a useful and intuitive Mac OS X application that enables you to view and find various rest area locations situated along the U.S. highway system.
Quickly find rest areas and locate them on the map
Thanks to Rest Areas you view the places where you can rest as you plan your next road trip with various third-party applications. However, seamlessly integrates with Road Trip planner and you can send the found roadside rest area information and location data directly to the app.
Rest Areas features a simple and user-friendly interface that helps you to quickly switch between the standard, satellite and hybrid map mode, find your location on the map and go to a specific location. The top toolbar also helps you filter the displayed rest areas and enable or disable the Auto Zoom option.
Check the weather using a service of your choice
By accessing the List side panel, you can view all available rest areas along with your favorite ones. Unfortunately, we could not find out how to add a location to the favorites list, but Rest Areas allows you to import and export such lists.
The bottom toolbar offers you access to a series of useful feature that you can use to check out the weather using different sources such as Weather.com, the National Weather Service or Weather Underground.
Plan your route to the next rest area with ease
On top of that, Rest Areas helps you plan your trip from the current location to the selected rest area using OS X’s Maps app or by using Google Maps. On top of that, you have the option to view multiple pictures grabbed from Flickr with the given location.
Although not all displayed pictures are relevant for the chosen location, some of them could help you recognize the rest area when you see it in real life.
