POP for Mac
POP is a minimalist Mac OS X application designed to display the most relevant / interesting posts from your Twitter account in a simple panel on the OS X menu bar. The app also enables you to retweet your favorite links using OS X’s tweet feature.
After installing and launching POP, the app will request your permission to use your Twitter account. After that, it will display an icon on the system bar that you can click to open a small window, which allows you to access the most interesting links in your Twitter feed.
Within the interface, the profile icon and the name of the Twitter user, together with the name of tweet are displayed. Additionally, POP also shows your own Twitter icon on a top toolbar that actually does not do anything if you click on it.
Furthermore, POP selects links based on their popularity. If you like the link, you can even retweet it by clicking a tweet button that appears upon mouse hover. Retweeting using POP is made possible through OS X’s built-in tweet function.
To sum up, the POP app is extremely simple and a breeze to use. It was designed for Twitter users who wish to see only the most interesting tweets in their feed. On top of that, POP is free to use and barely consumes any resources.
