Writing replies to emails is a common practice, but you might not like the way in which Apple Mail formats the original text by default. QuoteFix is an unobtrusive Mail.app plug-in designed to help you fix certain issues.

The QuoteFix plug-in does not come with an installer app, so you will have to manually copy the .mailbundle file to the /Library/Mail/ Bundles folder.

To quickly access the Library directory, simply navigate to the “Go” menu of your Finder.app, press the option key, and select the appropriate entry.

Once installed, the QuoteFix plug-in can be easily disabled or enables via the Mail.app main menu. At the same time, you get to define your on message cleaning rules via the Mail Preferences window.

Right off the bat, QuoteFix enables you to choose the types of emails that will be processed: replies (including to all), drafts, new emails, forwarded or “Send Again” messages. The plug-in provides a list of available cleaning options, and all you have to do is check the ones you want to apply.

Moreover, QuoteFix also offers you the possibility to apply certain templates when replaying, forwarding, or sending messages again.
