QuickCast For Mac

Application developers, gamers and app tester make screencasts for various games and apps in order to demonstrate the function of an app and even their gaming skills. Thanks to QuickCast you can now make short and concise screencasts with just a few mouse clicks.

QuickCast is a light, simple and unobtrusive application that provides a series of tools and features that you can use to make a 3 minute screencast. From QuickCast’s status bar menu you can start the recording process, access your latest QuickCasts, view them in Finder, re-upload screencasts, check for updates and sign in using your QuickCast account.

If you don’t have a QuickCast account you can register from within the application in just a couple of minutes. Before starting to record a section of your Mac’s screen or the entire desktop you have to configure your recording process from within the Setup window. Hence, you can choose the audio and video source, enable or disable your Mac's web camera and select the output folder.

Unfortunately, QuickCast is not able to save your recording directly to the desired location. You have to preview your screencast in QuickTime Player and then save the QuickCast via the File menu. We expect that this issues will be fixed in future updates.

Once the recording process is enabled you have five seconds to prepare yourself for the video. The status bar icon will indicate how much time you have left and if you are not happy with the result you can always try again until you are satisfied.

When you are happy with your screencast, you can use the Publish feature to upload and share your QuickCast. What is more, QuickCast comes with support for Markdown and enables you to preview the description before publishing the video. All published links can be easily accessed via QuickCast’ status bar menu.

On the whole, QuickCast is a low-key and intuitive application that enables you to record and share your screencast in just a couple of minutes.
