Picture Transfer Companion For Mac

Picture Transfer Companion is a free and cross-platform application that, together with the Picture Transfer app for iOS, provides a very simple photo transfer solution between your Mac and iOS device.

Picture Transfer supports any Mac desktop computer running OS X 10.6.6 or later (but it’s optimized for MacBook Pro with retina display) and iPhone, iPad and iPod touch running iOS 6 or later.

The Picture Transfer application duo make it incredibly simple to copy exchange photos and certain video files across the same Wi-Fi network. What’s more, the devices discover each other automatically if they’re on the same Wi-Fi network. There is no need for USB cables or even iTunes.

Picture Transfer Companion works out-of-the-box and no user configuration is needed. Once you launch the Mac client and iOS app on your devices, simply drag and drop the files you want to transfer onto the Mac app’s main window, and they will be instantly copied to your iDevice.

The supported images formats are JPG / JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF and BMP and the supported video formats are MP4, M4V and MOV. During the transfer, Picture Transfer does not compress files, so as to preserve their original quality. The EXIF metadata is also kept.

Picture Transfer Companion features a very simple user interface that displays some simple instructions. After the target device has been discovered, it will be listed in Picture Transfer Companion’s main window. Picture Transfer Companion also offers you the possibility to select the output folder for the transferred files.

Keep in mind that you can only transfer one file at once in the free demo version. To work with multiple files at once, you will need to upgrade to the PRO version from within the application.
