Firestorm is a free, open source and feature rich application that allows you to access the Second Life virtual world.
The Phoenix Project develops two open source, feature rich third-party viewers for accessing Second Life and other virtual world grids.
These are the Phoenix Viewer (based on the original Linden Lab 1.5 snowglobe viewer) and the Firestorm Viewer (based off the Linden Lab viewer 2 code base.)
