A lightweight and very easy to use Firefox add-on that specifically acts like a protective screensaver between your Mac and the web
Phzilla opens the desired web pages using a proxy, by downloading page content in the browser's memory and then displaying it to the user. The great thing about Phzilla is that your IP address is anonymous, since the web page host is visited only by the server address.
With a simple click on the status bar you can easily get the URL via the selected server. If the web page is not displayed correctly, you should change the proxy server, since there are some that won't provide support for specific web content.
Phzilla provides multiple alternatives to proxy servers, and it even gives you the ability to change them in a snap. Among others, Phzilla provides support for Glype or PHProxy.
Phzilla gives you a fast configuration mode, allowing you to disable the client side scripting content included in some web pages, replacing the address with one that was already decoded and even allow cookie storage.
Updating and changing the proxy server can be done in a second, just by accessing the dedicated menus provided by the extension.
Phzilla is a very useful extension that, despite its small size, can prove to be a very powerful utility for protecting your IP address while browsing the Internet.
