Net Monitor For Mac

Depending on your internet subscription plan, tracking your traffic on a regular basis can prove to be extremely useful if you do not want to overcome your quota. Net Monitor is an user friendly Mac app that can monitor your activity and generate reports.

At first launch, Net Monitor starts by monitoring the network that is currently active, but you can easily switch to other available networks via a simple status bar menu. Within the Net Monitor main window you can visualize details about the network, such as the IP address, the broadcast address, and the netmask.

At the same time, you can vie the traffic statistics (received and transmitted data throughput and total), but also a graphic representation for your activity. Net Monitor allows you to see the graph in a separate window, in a floating window, in the Dock, or in the status bar.

The Net Monitor app also includes a Speedometer that will measure the average, peak and total network speed. This is very useful if you want to verify if your connection is performing under normal parameters.

At the same time, all the collected data is summarized in the Traffic log window and you can calculate how much bandwidth you have used in a certain time period. This information can be exported to HTML or XML documents that can be saved to your disk and shared with others.

Net Monitor is a great tool to have around if you need to monitor your internet usage so that you will not go over your monthly quota: the app can generate graphic representations in real time, can measure the transfer speed, and can calculate the bandwidth usage for a user defined time period.
