Forget all about using a web browser in order to chat with your friends on Facebook and do all that from comfort of your Mac's desktop with the help of this wrapper app. #Facebook messenger #Send Facebook message #Messenger client #Facebook #Messenger #Message
Image how it would be if you could chat with your friends on Facebook without having to be actually logged into Facebook but have access only for the Messenger, or how it would be if you could have a dedicated Facebook web-app only for chatting.
Well, this is now possible with Facebook’s recent release of the separate web-app for the Messenger. Evidently, being a web-app, this solution still requires that you use a web browser in order to chat with your Facebook friends, and despite all its advantages, for some this is still not enough.
If you are one of those Facebook users that’s been constantly asking yourself for a very long time why hasn’t Facebook yet to released a separate standalone application for its Messenger, like in the case of the most popular mobile platforms, then read on, because this might just be what you were waiting for.
Messenger is a straightforward Electron based application, in other words, it is basically a wrapper of Facebook’s official Messenger web-app. The advantages that Messenger brings are easily observable and the first aftermath is the fact that from now on, you don’t need to have a browser available to chat with your friends on Facebook.
The application features a interface very similar to that found on the Messenger app for mobile device, so you will be able to send and receive messages, share pictures and videos, express yourself with the help of smileys and stickers, make calls or video calls, in a nutshell, almost everything you can do with the web app, you can do now from the comfort of your Mac’s desktop.
Taking all things into consideration, Messenger will make you forget about multiple opened tabs or about having to stare at the rest of Facebook’s interface while using the Messenger.
This is what Mac users and Facebook fans have really been waiting for: a chance to use the Messenger as a standalone application, without having to deal with tabs and web browsers. It worked on all mobile platforms, and we think it will certainly work for the OS X.
