IpChat is a comprehensive network communication tool, similar to a regular instant messenger. However IpChat, unlike other IM networks is completely decentralized, requiring no pre-existing server.

IPChat currently uses its own binary protocol (exact specification of the protocol are in chatSock.java). However due to the inflexibilty of such protocol, there were some suggestions to change it into a text based or xml based protocol.

IpChat is a software completely written in the Java programming language.

· files are now send though different stream of data, so no more line busy errors
· files are also being deflated (compressed), which in theory should allow faster send times
