Internet Connection Keeper is a no-frills Mac OS X application designed to maintain your Internet connection in order to not get disconnected by your Internet service provider.

When your Internet connection is idle, Internet service providers usually disconnect your from the Web. Internet Connection Keeper is a tool that prevents your computer from being disconnected from the Internet when you don't use the Internet for a some time.

Internet Connection Keeper works by automatically sending a small amount of bytes to your ISP at regular intervals. This way, your ISP will think you are still using your connectivity and won't disconnect you.

Internet Connection Keeper only sends a few bytes at regular intervals, so it does not interfere with your bandwidth.

What's more, Internet Connection Keeper notifies you about the last attempt to keep the Internet connection alive; it might succeed or it might not.

Internet Connection Keeper provides a menu bar item for quickly accessing the preferences. From the Preferences window, you can view the state of the connection, and set the interval for sending bytes to the ISP.

Internet Connection Keeper is translated into multiple languages besides English: French, German, Italian, Dutch and more.

Limitations in the unregistered version

  • Registration screen at startup.

What's new in Internet Connection Keeper 8.1:

  • A full recompilation has been made to be compatible with High Sierra, and as Universal Binary to keep being compatible with both old (PowerPC) Macs and recent (Intel) Macs.
  • The "How to intall it?" paragraph of the documentation has been updated to explain how to install and launch the Application in particular under Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra:
  • Under Mac OS 10.13 High Sierra, if you're launching the Application for the first time, Mac OS' GateKeeper (which you can configure in the "System Preferences") will refuse to launch it because you've not downloaded it from the Mac App Store (but from our website). In this case, instead of double-clicking on it, all you have to do is to right-click on the Application's icon, and then select the "Open" menu. A message will appear in which you'll be able to confirm that you want to launch the Application (even if it was not downloaded from the Mac App Store from an Identified Developer).
