Instamac for Mac
Instamac is a native OS X application that focuses on bringing you the popular Instagram service right to your desktop. In other words, Instamac is a simple client which provides all the features of the mobile or web-based version of the image sharing app.
Like in the mobile / web version, you can access popular images, your personal feed and the favorites from your Instagram account. Furthermore, the posts can be viewed as a list or as thumbnails with adjustable size from a clean and uncluttered board.
You can also view details about the poster, such as username, how many pictures he / she posted and other additional information. What’s more, you can choose to follow users by clicking the Follow button.
Instamac makes it really to browse an image in its full size. All you have to do is to select it and press the Spacebar. It will open in a separate panel, like files previewed with QuickLook do. Another useful feature is the ability to add tags to particular images.
Tags appear on the left part of the main window and help you organize your images by certain phrases (called tags). You can create any number of tags and have them at hand’s reach on the left pane. In addition to this, you can even save searches and access them at any time, also from the left pane.
Another interesting feature is the slideshow viewer. With just a simple click, your screen will display just Instagram pictures in their full size that are cycled automatically. Moreover, slideshows can be started with only tagged images or even with pictures from search results.
In summary, Instamac offers you simple and elegant Instagram client for your desktop. Aside from the non-impressive user interface design, it does not have clear downsides. Its highlights are the ability to add tags and save searches, slideshow creator, simple picture browser and notifications.
