Franz For Mac

Franz is designed to help you manage multiple communication services, and more than one account for the same chat or messaging solution, within the same GUI.

The Franz tabbed user interface allows you to switch between multiple services with ease while the built-in notifications support keeps you up to date with incoming messages that require your attention.

Within the Franz main panel, you can see the list of supported services: Slack, WhatsApp, Skype, Hangouts, Messenger, Telegram, HipChat, and Grape.

To get started, select the service you want to enable and make the initial configurations: provide the name of the team you need to join, define a custom name for each service, and decide if you wish to receive notifications or not.

Worth mentioning is that you get to add the same service multiple times and connect to different accounts: Franz will create a separate new tab for each enabled service.

To start using the various services you configured within Franz, you must begin by providing your credentials and logging into your accounts. Once you do that, you will be able to use the accounts like you would do in any web browser, or in a specialized desktop client.

If the notifications functions is enabled, whenever there is a new message, Franz will place a counter in the appropriate service tab. This way, you can easily see the accounts that require your attention.

Accessing various web services via desktop clients is advisable, especially if you don’t want to clutter your web browser. However, if you need to keep track of numerous accounts on multiple platforms, it can prove to be quite challenging.

Franz proposes an alternative solution: you can use the same user interface to connect to multiple services and manage more that one account per each service. This will significantly reduce desktop clutter and help you stay more organized.
