Tab Badge shows you important info about the opened tabs. For instance, you can see the number of new messages on Facebook, when you hoover the mouse over the Facebook tab.
The badge is also visible when the tabs are pinned, so that you can see when there's something new available.
The badge is based on the title of the page, so, for a Twitter page, for instance, it could look as following: (8) Twitter / Home, in a red box. You can blacklist the badge from any website by right-clicking on it.
The Tab Badge add-on is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux
