Quick definition is a simple and easy to use Firefo add-on that allows you to search for definitions on Google (Oxford Dictionary) by simply hitting the ctrl+shift+alt key combination.
Quick definition’s goal is to simplify user's search for definition. Often when reading a text we find ourselves looking on Google with a search looking like "define Intrinsic", but to do so, we have to manually open a tab, visit our preferred online dictionary and query the word we are looking for by re-typing it.
The Quick definition add-on simplifies the whole process. Simply select a word or more and press the following keys : ctrl+shift+alt.
You will get redirected to a Google search for the definition. Sometimes that definition will include the pronunciation.
Quick definition is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
