Meta Generator Version Check is a simple Firefox add-on that notifies you if web page is generated from an outdated version of WordPress, Joomla, MediaWiki, or other web software.
Meta Generator Version Check checks the meta generator tag, that is sometimes placed in web pages, to see if the web page is generated from an outdated version of web software. Keeping software running on websites up to date is an important part of keeping them secure.
Meta Generator Version Check currently includes checks for:
· WordPress versions prior to 3.3
· Joomla 1.0 and Joomla 1.6
· MediaWiki versions 1.17.0-1.13 (earlier versions do not contain a meta generator tag)
· vBulletin versions prior to 3.8.7
· TYPO3 versions prior to 4.3
· Movable Type versions prior to 4.37, 5.06, and 5.12
· concrete5 versions prior to 5.4.2.2
· Melody versions prior to 1.0.2
Meta Generator Version Check is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
