Input autofocus is a Firefox add-on that sets focus to a first text input element on a page after page was loaded.
Input autofocus works on a white-list basis. This means that autoselection will occur only on sites that you have added to the extensions rules.
Simply go to the Add-ons Manager, click on the Preferences button near the Input autofocus, then click on the Add new rule and type in site url into Url pattern field.
Detailed instructions on how to install and use the Input autofocus utility on your Mac are available HERE.
Input autofocus is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
