    Facebook Messenger is a Firefox add-on that enables you to access the Facebook chat from your browser's sidebar without opening the Facebook site.

    In addition, you will be able to access your Facebook notifications, messages, and friend invites from the toolbar.

    Facebook Messenger is cross-platform and it works on Mac OS X, Windows and Linux.
