FTPortal is a minimalist macOS application that enable you to very quickly upload data to FTP servers through an incredibly simple user interface. The app was designed to eliminate all unnecessary options in other similar apps when your goal is to just transfer a simple file.
The benefit of using FTPortal is its simplicity. Uploading a file or folder to a FTP server is a simple procedure: just drag and drop them onto the app’s main window after you’ve entered the FTP server and your credentials.
Another advantage is that you can make copies of the app and select a different output folder in each. This way, you can upload different files to different folders at the same time using the same application.
The utility comes with a straightforward user interface that includes buttons to the preferences, directory listing and the console log. From the Preferences window, you can enter the name of the FTP host, your username and password and the target folder.
Additional options include the ability to automatically archive folders in the ZIP format when uploading entire folders. Also, you can set FTPortal to close after the upload has finished.
Moreover, the File menu provides an option to list all the portals you’ve configured in the Preferences window. You can clear all portals using the Clear item in the File menu.
To wrap things up, FTPortal is definitely not a complex FTP transfer client, but rather a simple solution for quick and painless transfers. If you are looking for such an app for your own needs, try out the app’s trial version and see for yourself.
What's new in FTPortal 2.0.7:
- In this maintenance update internal links to internet resources, which may be displayed in the users default web browser, were changed from using protocol "http" to "https". The main difference between "http" and "https" lies in the level of security they provide when transmitting data over the internet. This ensures the security and privacy of data, protecting users from potential security threats. Additionally, many modern browsers display a padlock icon or "Secure" label for HTTPS connections, instilling trust in users.
- Additionally ensures the user interface is consistent with documentation graphics when device is set to use dark mode.
