Electorrent For Mac

Electorrent connects remotely to your uTorrent server, as long as the Web UI server is enabled, and offers you the possibility to manage your torrent transfers from any computer connected to your network.

The Electorrent application has been built with the help of the Electron, Node, and AngularJS frameworks, brings to the table a minimalist user interface, and is also able to handle magnet links.

To be able to use the Electorrent client, you need to go to the Preferences window of your uTorrent application, navigate to the Remote tab, and make sure the local Web UI Server is enabled.

Note that you have to set a username and a password that will be required to establish the connection on the remote computer. The same area enables you to see the default listening port or choose to use an alternative one.

Once all this is taken care of, within the Electorrent main window, you must simply provide the server’s IP address, port, and account credentials. Electorrent will automatically recognize all torrent transfers set within the uTorrent app, and will list them in its main window.

In the Electorrent main window all the torrent links are separated by category: downloading, finished, seeding, stopped, or failed. You get to see the status of each transfer and decide to start, stop, or pause the download.

For each torrent included in the list, Electorrent allows you to see the name, size, progress status, label, and date added. The associated contextual menu enables you to debug recheck, force start, or remove the link, among other things.

Within the Electorrent Preferences, you can choose to make the app the default utility for dealing with magnet links, which means that you will also be able to add new torrents to the server. Note that you can achieve that only if a magnet link is available (Electorrent will not add .torrent files).

Electorrent offers you the possibility to control your torrent downloads from any Mac connected to the same network as the uTorrent server, as long as the built-in Web UI server is running.

Via the Electorrent well-organized user interface, you get to keep track of each download, control the transfer, manage the torrent files, and even quickly add new tasks by using magnet links.
