DropDownloadURL For Mac

DropDownloadURL is a handy OS X utility capable to simultaneously download and aggregate resources from various URLs.

You can use DropDownloadURL to aggregate the downloaded files into multiple sub-folders based on their file extension. Every sub-folders is named using the common extension of the contained files.

What is more, the DropDownloadURL application is capable of downloading individual URLs and, as a result, you can use it as a replacement for your web browser.

To start the downloading process you just have to drag an URL from your Internet browser onto DropDownloadURL’s Dock icon or main window. You can also click on the “Download Browser URL” from the Dock icon or the “Process Browser URL” from within the app to process the web address opened in your Internet browser.

You can use the “Import URL” window to manually enter or paste a web address. After processing the address, DropDownloadUR will display all the extracted addresses from the original URLs.

The downloading process starts automatically and can only be stopped by clearing the list, however, you can also manually select the links that have completed and remove them from the list.

From DropDownloadURL’s main window you can view how many URLs are queued and open the output folder. If you encounter any problems throughout the process you can always try again and restart the downloading process.

By accessing the Preferences window, you ca set the output folder, enable the aggregate files option and configure DropDownloadURL to ask you for the output location every time you add a web address.

Others options such as “Show Alerts When Errors Occur”, “Set Comment to Location URL”, “Overwrite Files by Same Name” and “Preserve File Comments When Aggregating Files” can also be enabled or disabled with just a mouse click.
