DockStar For Mac

DockStar is a simple but efficient Apple Mail customization tool that offers you the possibility to employ multiple badges for your Mail Dock icon. This way, you are able to monitor the unread counter for multiple inboxes, and even track specific folders.

The DockStar software archive comes with an installer package that makes sure the add-on integrates seamlessly with your Apple Mail app: all you have to do is follow the on screen indications.

Note that you will actually see the indicators in your Dock only if you assign them to one of your accounts or folders via the DockStar Preferences. To access this panel, open the Apple Mail Preferences window and navigate to the DockStar panel.

Right off the bat, you must specify the email account or folder that is associated to each badge. At the same time, you must select the type of information you want to see: unread count, total message count, or flagged messages.

DockStar offers you the option to include the nested folders, gives you the option to place the badge in the menu bar, and enables you to attach a sound alert. Moreover, you can switch between different badge shapes, and you also get to change the default color.

Lastly, by dragging and dropping the right corner of each badge in the Dock icon representation, you can easily resize each badge.

DockStar is a great addition to your Apple Mail because it gives you the opportunity to track the activity of more than one account without actually opening the app’s interface. This way, you can easily decide if the utility requires your attention immediately, or you can finish what you were working on first. The drawback is that you cannot add more than 5 badges.
