A straightforward and streamlined Citizens band radio emulator for communicating with strangers over the Internet in 10 language rooms

editor's review

CB Radio Box is a realistic digital emulation of the Citizens band radio (CB Radio) designed specifically for the Mac OS X platform. Citizens band radio was a means of short-distance communication via radio that was popular throughout the 80s and 90s.

Using the application, you will be able to talk to users via the Internet instead of radio waves. Thus, you can talk to anyone in the world. Also, CB Radio Box aims to bring back the unique feeling of talking to strangers without knowing each other.

In order to establish connections, CB Radio Box also supports both the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi technologies. Moreover, the app allows you to access 20 base channels, 70 private channels and 10 language rooms.

Aesthetically speaking, CB Radio Box comes with a clean and uncluttered user interface. It includes an ON / OFF button, volume slider, a channel display, country flag, decibel indicator and buttons to change the channel, scan and more.

Furthermore, CB Radio Box can sport several different themes and be customized with 3 base style colors. What’s great is that, as of version 1.6, you can download additional themes for free.

To sum up, CB Radio Box might not be the ultimate solution for communicating with strangers over the web, but offers a good amount of functions to recreate the unique feel of using Citizens band radio from back in the day.
