A free and open source BitTorrent client for your Mac
BitRocket comes with a user-oriented interface that provides quick and easy access to all the tools and features you might need to handle multiple downloads at the same time.
As follows, the top toolbar helps you add new torrents to your download list, pause, resume or remove a torrent, clean the download queue and reveal the downloaded files in your Mac’s Finder window.
With the help of the built-in search engine, BitRocket allows you to quickly and effortlessly search for the needed torrents. However, BitRocket is no longer under active development and, as a result, the search function is no longer delivering search results.
Check the download speed, upload and download rate
You can filter the list with the displayed torrents and view only downloading, seeding or paused torrents and use the filter dialog to further narrow down the list.
The General tab offers detailed information about the selected torrent while the Progress tab helps you check the download ratio along with the upload and download rate, view the download speed and overall progress. By accessing the Files tab, you can view the contained files and the Options tab helps you limit the download or upload rate.
Helps you stay updated with the latest news and manage your RSS feeds
Beside being a BitTorrent client, BitRocket also works as a RSS reader that makes it easy for you to check the latest news from multiple sources. All RSS feeds are displayed in the left side panel from where you can also add new source with ease.
Unfortunately, BitRocket is no longer maintained and crashed a couple of times during our testing period. On top of that, the search feature is no longer usable while the “Announce” function causes the application to crash.
