Apache Traffic Server is a fast, open source, scalable and extensible HTTP/1.1 compliant caching proxy server.
Formerly a commercial product, Yahoo! donated it to the Apache Foundation, and Apache Traffic Server is now an Apache TLP (top-level project).
Traffic Server ships with not only an HTTP web proxy and caching solution, but also provides a server framework, with which you can build very fast servers for other protocols.
How to install: Unarchive, open a Terminal window, go to the Apache Traffic Server's folder and run the following commands from the command line:
./configure make sudo make install
