iBooks Author For Mac

Developed by Apple, iBooks Author is designed to help you create your own digital books that can be viewed on your iPad or on your desktop.

iBooks Author comes with a collection of high quality books templates that can be edited and personalized to match your own needs. Customization options range from the possibility to change the fonts, colors or textures to, of course, completely replacing the text or media content.

The app also enables you to create your own book templates that have a user defined layout. You can add a cover, a copyright/dedication/foreword page, generate a table of contents and much more.

The Multi-Touch widgets technology allows you to include in your projects different types of media content such as images, Keynote presentations, videos, dynamic pop-overs, audio files, interactive images and much more.

Creating books from scratch might not be as challenging as you think: you can easily import projects already completed within applications such as Keynote, Pages or Microsoft word via a simple drag and drop.

iBooks Author allows you to export the finished book to your iPad in order to preview the result, or you can open it directly on your Mac and decide if other adjustments are necessary.

The projects created in iBooks Author can be exported to PDF documents, to iBooks files that can be published on iTunes U, or you can quickly submit them to the iBooks Store (for free or as a commercial product).
