Screen Ruler is powerful and intuitive on-screen ruler, color picker and screen grabber specially made for web designers, programmers and graphic artists.

Screen Ruler comes with four powerful tools that enable you to make box and line measurements, determine the exact color of a given pixel and take full or partial screenshots. You can use any of the provided tools by simply accessing Screen Ruler’s status bar menu.

Thanks to the Box Measurement tool you can obtain the exact pixel width and height of any area from your mac’s display. In addition, you can make a persistent ruler that you can pin on your desktop for longer time periods. You can perform your measurements in pixels, millimeters, centimeters, inches, picas, point or your own custom system.

By using the Line Measurement tool, you can easily calculate the distance and angle between any two pixels. Just like in the case of the Box Measurement tool, the Line Measurement tool allows you to determine the distance using different measurement systems.

The Color Picker tool can help you obtain the color code of any pixel with just a couple of mouse clicks. You can pick up multiple colors and copy the color code by simply clicking on the picked color. Screen Ruler comes with support for RGB hex or decimal, CMYK, CGColor, glColor4f, NSColor and UIColor.

If you need to take multiple screenshots you can use the Grab image tool and grab different parts of your Mac’s display. You can grab the snapshot and drag it to your desktop to save it as a PNG file or to an image editing application of your choice in order to preview and edit it.

From Screen Ruler’s Preferences window you can configure it to automatically start at login and enable or disable the sound effects. You can also personalize Screen Ruler and change the Crosshairs, Box and Line measurement colors and customize the keyboard shortcuts.
