Being able to convert digital images into artistic pencil sketches is great, especially if you lack the talent to draw them yourself. Another upside is the fact that you can preserve the high quality of the initial photo, mainly if you work with print quality.

PhotoSketcher is a simple yet very efficient application that comes packed with a powerful photo-to-sketch algorithm and can be used to achieve amazing results. The modern interface is quite intuitive and easy to get around.

To get started, you must import the source photo: you will be able to preview it in the center of the PhotoSketcher's main window. The PhotoSketcher's top toolbar includes basic image adjusting tools, such as zoom in/out, best fit or actual size, but also a rotate and a crop tool. What’s more, you can switch between the 3 view modes: original, sketch or split (you can visualize both images at the same time).

From the PhotoSketcher's right side panel, you can easily customize the sketch design by adjusting the pen size, the color or the moisture. You can change the background style, colorize using the original colors (you get to modify the strength) or you can adjust the brightness and the contrast.

When you are satisfied with the results, you can easily export the sketch to popular image file formats, such as PNG, GIF, JPEG, TIFF or BMP.
