Processing you photos with full featured image editors is great because they offer a large plethora of useful and powerful editing features. But, due to their complexity, most of the time, processing  large number of photos with the help of these kind of apps can prove to be a bit counterproductive.

What you need then, is a simple and fast application that enables you to apply light edits to a large number of photos, without you having to go through complicated procedures and without using all your Mac’s resources.

An application as such is PhotoGUN, an easy to use and efficient little cross-platform app that makes it very simple for you to batch process large number of photos with the least amount of effort on your behalf.

The loading process for photos into PhotoGUN’s interface is reduced to a simple drag and drop action from the Finder onto the app’s dedicated loading window. You must know that, once you have loaded your pictures onto PhotoGUN’s interface, you do not get the possibility to load other images, so make sure that you load the right photos from the get-go.

Designed to enhance your photo editing workflow PhotoGUN enables you to perform basic editing operations such as to resize, cut and crop your pictures, invert photos, apply mirroring effects, adjust the brightness, contrast, saturation, and the color balance.

The PhotoGUN app helps you add watermarks and borders, interchange the RGB channels, convert your pictures to black and white, apply vignettes and blurring effects for hiding certain details.

After you are done, you can easily export all your processed photos to formats like JPEG, PNG, TIFF, BMP, XPM, PPM, as well as to take advantage of the quality compression range (from 1% to 100%) for the JPEG images.

While not the best looking application out there and despite the fact that it’s interface has almost nothing in common with OS X, PhotoGUN does manage to provide an efficient solution for batch processing large number of photos without draining your Mac’s resources.
