PaintCat For Mac

PaintCat is a straightforward macOS paint application that comes with a standard set of features, such as the obvious canvas provided by most drawing tools, support for importing images, a paint tool panel and, as a bonus feature, full-screen mode support.

The application resembles any other decent paint app for the Mac on the market. Although it features the distinctive macOS elegance, PaintCat does not shine in the user interface department.

Working with PaintCat is a walk in the park due to the simple purpose of the app - to create digital sketches. The default canvas is white and the size can be adjusted. You can set any size in pixels as well as percentages.

A small button in the lower left corner allows you to select the zoom level and the top menus allow you to flip the image, access the font settings and do other stuff, like exporting the painting locally.

As for the drawing itself, you can use a compact panel of paint tools that include a pencil, brush, bucket, circles, squares, lines, text boxes, ellipses and more. In addition to this, the PaintCat app lets you easily switch colors and select the stroke level.

As a bonus feature, PaintCat enables you to select the number of supported Undo commands via the Preferences window. If you want infinite undos, note that your system’s performance may be affected.

To summarize it all, PaintCat is a user-friendly painting app for macOS that matches the needs of most users who are familiar with the generic paint utilities.

Although it does not bring anything new to the table, PaintCat is simple to work with and its set of tools and features definitely does not disappoint.
