Macromedia FreeHand MX 11.0.2

Provides a collection of efficient vector drawing tools and allows you to convert your projects into Flash based animations for website and web apps
Creating high quality illustrations for print or web usually requires you to work with vector images. Adobe’s Macromedia FreeHand MX provides a collection of efficient vector drawing tools and allows you to convert your projects into Macromedia Flash animations.

Macromedia FreeHand MX is no longer under development but Adobe still offers customer support and allows you to buy the application if you wish, although they have no intentions of reviving the project.

Macromedia FreeHand MX works only on certain operating systems, starting from Mac OS X 10.2.6 to Mac OS X 10.5. Note that the application does not work on Mac OS X 10.6 or later and probably never will: users are advised to migrate to the more actual Adobe Illustrator application.

Macromedia FreeHand MX includes a collection of basic graphic editing tools: you can add different effects to your images and adjust the object properties, you can apply distortions without altering the original and much more.

Macromedia FreeHand MX allows you to bend, sketch and transform vectors and offers you the possibility to apply raster effects, such as gradient and drop shadow. Additionally, you can resize or reshape geometrical figures: polygons, ellipses, rectangles and more.

Furthermore, Macromedia FreeHand MX can be used to plan and design Macromedia Flash projects. For example, you can import Macromedia Flash videos, integrate them into your Macromedia FreeHand MX project layout and then export the result to SWF. The documents created this way can be further edited within Macromedia Flash, although the app is also able to open Macromedia FreeHand MX projects.

Macromedia FreeHand MX may also be used to organize ideas, to visualize data flows and design site maps thanks to the Connector Lines tool. The Extrude tool can be used to create 3D drawings by allowing you to create 3D rotation effects, vanishing points and lightning effects.

Macromedia FreeHand MX cannot be used on the latest Apple operating systems, but the application can prove to be very useful if you still use older Macs.
