Instant For Mac

Instant is an elegant Mac OS X application that simulates the classic Polaroid cameras, also called instant cameras. Using this app, you can take photos of your photos, wait a few seconds for the “instant” photo (which now has classic white borders) to pop up, add various effects and comments.

In essence, the application does not bring anything new to the table in terms of photo editing, but rather a cool way to emulates taking pictures with a Polaroid camera. Moreover, Instant was designed to provide a smooth workflow within a sleek interface.

As soon as you drag and drop your image (JPEG, BMP, PNG, TIFF or GIF) onto the app’s user interface, which looks like a Polaroid camera, it will be displayed within a new window. From there, you can crop the picture and click on “Shoot”. In the next step, you can apply over 30 filters, including 10 Polaroid styles, to your images.

Moreover, you can also manually adjust the intensity, vignette effect blur and emulsion using simple sliders. You can insert comments (in 10 classic hand-writing fonts) that can be rotated, resized and positioned anywhere on the photo. Other fonts are supported as well.

Finally, Instant gives you the option to export the resulting picture on your local disk or share it on various social networks, such as Facebook, Flickr, Picasa, Tumblr or Twitter. A multitude of sizes are supported for the exported images.
