HotMouse for Mac
Kelvin Nishikawa’s application HotMouse is not designed to be a productivity enhancing utility but, as its description says, rather to provide you with the means to beautify your mouse’s pointer using an assortment of special effects.
Makes it easy to highlight your mouse's pointer
Moreover, once setup using its Preferences window, HotMouse will practically make your mouse pointer stand out, thus making it very simple and easy to find on a very crowded desktop.
Although some people might use it only for its novelty factor, we found it quite useful when having to create screen-casts because it allowed me to make sure that it was always easy to find among all the windows that made my Mac’s desktop pretty quite overpopulated.
A vast selection of effects and customization possibilities
In addition, the effects the HotMouse comes with were more than enough for most situations that required us to enable it, hence, it provides a balanced set of effects and customization options which proves that it was well thought from scratch.
HotMouse worked flawlessly on a Mac Pro, with no apparent lags or delays but, when used on an older iMac model (Late 2009), it did lag a bit when running multiple apps at the same time.
Therefore, if you do have a high specced Mac or if you don’t put a lot of stress on its CPU, HotMouse will work faultlessly. The only time you may experience problems while using it will be when the amount of apps you’re running at a given time will put too much load on your system’s RAM and CPU, thus not allowing HotMouse to properly display the pointer effects in a timely manner.
Multi-core processor support
What’s more, HotMouse can take advantage of your Mac’s multi-core processor hence, if you have one, it will run even more smooth, helping you enjoy its mesmerizing effects at all times.
User-friendly and easy to use mouse pointer enhancer
All things considered, HotMouse is a a great solution for when your window packed desktop has to be put on display during a screen-cast or presentation. HotMouse will make it a lot simpler for your viewers or audience to follow your mouse's pointer, thus making it easier for you to deliver your message across.
