Highbrow is yet another image viewer and video player with a twist: the user interface does not include any buttons or borders, thus allowing you to view the content without any constrictions.

For your convenience, Highbrow packs an introduction slideshow that takes you through the app’s features and shows you how to navigate your library.

By default, when you open a new browser window you must select a source folder and Highbrow will automatically open the included images and videos. Note that you can have multiple browser windows open at the same time.

You can navigate through them by using your trackpad, various keyboard shortcuts, or your mouse. However, you can also activate the browser sidebar which includes thumbnails for all included image or video files.

Highbrow provides support for most common picture management functions: you can zoom in and out the image, or copy, rename and move the source files. It can also display general metadata information for the current selection.

What’s more, Highbrow allows you to resize its windows and adjust their level (normal, desktop or float on top). The best part is that the Highbrow windows snap to edges, so you can create original collages that cover your entire screen.

Highbrow allows you to save the current window state, which means that you can reload a particular photomontage at a later time with a simple mouse click.

The Highbrow media browser is great if you don’t want to waste desktop space with redundant buttons or image frames.

The utility offers you the option to open multiple folders without having to import the content, and you get to browse the library using intuitive hotkeys, mouse movements, or trackpad gestures.
