GIF Hunter For Mac

Navigating various websites in your web browser to find the GIF animation that matches your state of mind can be quite time-consuming. GIF Hunter is a simple status bar app that brings 3 different GIF sources under the same roof: Giphy, Imgur, and Popkey.

Like many other apps of its kind, GIF Hunter resides in the status bar and allows you to browse for GIF images in a simple panel that displays thumbnails for each entry.

The same panel provides a search box and allows you to sort the results by relevance or release date. Moreover, you also get to search your own favorites list.

Via the Settings menu placed in the bottom right corner of the GIF Hunter panel, you can also select the website you want to query: Giphy, Imgur, or Popkey.

The GIF Hunter panel includes small thumbnails for each of the entries that match your keyword. To share them with others, just hold down your cursor until the app lets you know the image is ready for sharing.

The next step is to drag and drop the thumbnail on top of any other application, but note that this procedure transfers the actual image file. However, GIF Hunter also offers you the option to share only the GIF's URL to eliminate the file transfer process.

Moreover, each GIF thumbnail comes with an auto-hiding menu that enables you to add that particular entry to your favorites list. Using this tool can significantly reduce the time spent finding a GIF that you have used on previous occasions.

GIF Hunter aims to provide a streamlined manner for finding and using GIF animations in conversations without wasting too much time. The app can search for images on multiple websites but, unfortunately, the queries cannot be run on all supported sites at the same time.
