Transfer images from digital cameras and memory cards, preview, organize, compare, sort, rate, and rename them with this intuitive app #Image Transfer #Image Browser #Image Organizer #Transfer #Photo #Image
Once you’ve completed a photoshoot, you may have hundreds or even thousands of images that need to be transferred to your Mac for processing. This can be a slow process, particularly if you’re working with multiple memory cards.
FirstPass is a specialized app designed to help you with this aspect of your job, and it can also handle the first steps of organizing and analyzing images. It’s meant to serve as the first tool in your workflow, followed by a more complex editing tool.
The app’s primary strength is that it streamlines the process of transferring images from memory cards to your computer. It can grab files automatically from multiple sources to multiple destinations, including over the network.
When the first step is done and the photos are available locally, you can begin browsing, comparing and rating them. This is normally when you get rid of bad images and pick out the ones you need to keep. Firstpass displays detailed metadata to help you with image analysis.
Photos can be sorted by name, date, or rating, and the app can create folders automatically based on EXIF data. You can also use directories to organize images according to your own criteria.
