Viewing @2x or -hd cocos2d images on non retina devices can lead to unnecessary scrolling and has the potential to shift your project’s appearance completely. Resizer is a very small Mac app designed to help you reduce the image resolution by half via a simple drag and drop.

The Resizer user interface is represented by a single window that integrates perfectly in the general Mac OS X design. To process the images you must drag and drop them on top of the main window or on the Resizer Dock icon.

You can use the “Add” button placed in the bottom left corner of the Resizer main window. The opposite corner contains the “Overwrite” check box: when enabled, Resizer will automatically overwrite the output files if it detects that a document with the same name already exists at the defined output location.

Note that you must specify the results output folder each time you launch a resizing process. On the other hand, Resizer is able to deal with multiple images at the same time.

Resizer proposes a simple solution for quickly reducing the size of your images but take into account that you cannot customize the output size and that the app can work only with @2x and -hd cocos2d images.

What's new in Resizer 1.4:

  • Lion / Mountain Lion Support
  • Name changed from Unretina/Unretiner to Resizer.
