    ComicBookEdit description

ComicBookEdit - Free cross-platform application for creating comics

ComicBookEdit is a free cross-platform application for creating comics. It can be used to draw comics and save them in an SVG file format.

This means that your comic will display in firefox. Drawings can also be exported to PDF and to bitmaps. The former is great for printing.

You can make vector drawings, add some text balloons, place them in boxes, put the boxes on pages. The app is written in Java so that it runs anywhere (Mac OS X, Linux, Windows).

Here are some key features of "ComicBookEdit":

    · A nice feature of ComicBookEdit is that the drawing can be done using simple mouse clicks and keyboard shortcuts only. So no dragging around with the mouse or difficult precision clicking on very small control points.
    · What makes ComicBookEdit specially suited for comics (although you can draw other things with it) is the ability to create text balloons very easily. Also it is very easy to setup a "comic book" format: a drawing with multiple pages, and boxes on the pages in which you can place your favourite comic characters.

    Requirements:

    · Java 1.6

    NOTES:
    1. Comic Book Editor is licensed and released under the BSD License.
    2. To be able to build the Mac application you will have to open a Terminal window, go to "~/Desktop/comicbookedit", and enter the following command (without the quotes): "./build.sh". All you have to do next is to open the comicbookedit folder from your Desktop with the Finder and double-click on the comicbookedit.jar file in the "build" directory.

Softpedia guarantees that ComicBookEdit 1.010 is 100% FREE, which means it does not contain any form of malware, including spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors. [read more >]
