CinePaint is a deep paint image retouching tool that supports higher color fidelity than ordinary painting tools.CinePaint opens high fidelity image file formats such as 16-bit TIFF, DPX, and OpenEXR, and conventional formats like PNG or JPEG.

CinePaint is a free open source painting and image retouching application designed to work best with 35mm film and other high resolution high dynamic range images.

CinePaint was formerly called FilmGimp. It has been used in a dozen feature films including Harry Potter, Scooby-Doo, and the Fast & the Furious.

CinePaint is a motion picture editing tool primarily used for painting and retouching of movie images.

CinePaint in feature movie productions includes the movies Scooby-Doo, Harry Potter, Stuart Little and Stuart Little 2. CinePaint is the most successful open source tool in feature motion picture work today.
