BreakStory is a free and cross-platform Adobe InDesign script that will help you to easily separate all selected text frames in a story so that you can divide the story in two.

Installation: Open the "Window > Utilities > Scripts" panel in InDesign (you can also use the ⌥+⌘+F11 shortcut), select the "User" folder, select "Reveal in Finder" from the drop-down menu on the top right side. Copy the script folder to the "Scripts Panel" folder in the opened window.
