3D-Coat screenshot

Combines painting layered textures and sculpting in one easy to use interface with use of 3D Layers. Every layer consists of a colour, specular, transparency and displacement channel. 3D-Coat generates a normal map “on the fly” to display fine details. It displays a base mesh of 40-100 K polygons but the normalmap makes it look like 1-16 million polygons.

You can edit textures up to 4096x4096. 3D-Coat has very powerful retopology tool. It can work in a deep connection with Adobe Photoshop (R) or any 2D-editor that can edit PSD files. Full compatibility with Light Wave 3D, Modo through .lwo format, with Maya, 3ds Max, Carrara through .fbx (import) and .obj format. It has easy and intuitive interface. Each control displays a detailed hint, in order to help you master 3D-Coat very quickly.

  • 800MHz PowerPC G4 processor or higher.
  • 512MB of RAM (1GB recommended).
  • Video Card: 128MB Radeon 9200/Nvidia 5600 (256MB recommended) or higher.
