XenoRaptor is a very engaging top-down shooter game with the action set in outer space. The gameplay revolves around controlling your cyberdragon ship through large swarms of rocket propelled chainsaws capable flanking, sniping, cloaking, and teleporting.

There are 4 skill sets that you can use in order to protect yourself and inflict damage, such as two default weapons that generate heat, a special weapon that uses ammo, and a movement skill that uses fuel.

Probably one of the best things about XenoRaptor is the way you can control the ship: the ship movements feel butter smooth and very natural, while aiming can be done with a very good precision.

Because of the various weapon combinations and the large variety of enemies, each with its own characteristics and set of skills, you can adopt many interesting and engaging styles of gameplay. The game can be played in both single player mode and in online or LAN mode with seven other players.

Of course, while the concept is pretty simple at first glance, the gameplay is well thought out as in single player mode, you will need to pass a series of very powerful bosses and engage in epic screen filling space battles in order to advance.

Throughout your battles you will definitely need to be on the lookout for power-ups that are dropped once you kill enemies. The medkits help you fully heal your cyberdragon, coolant will reset the Heat bar, speed drops will make your ship move faster, and ammo, naturally, will add munition to your weapon as well as cool it down.

The Hangar is the place where all the magic happens as you can customize your ship, add and upgrade weapons to suit your gameplay style. You can add bombs, beams, gatling lasers, railguns, and also change your hull, as well as upgrade your radar and engine.

Another great thing worth mentioning is the fact that while the graphics look pretty good and really do contribute for creating an engaging space shooting experience, the game uses very little system resources, which means that even if you have a fairly old Mac, you will still be able to fully enjoy it.
