Word Stars is a collection of 8 word games and puzzles designed to meet a variety of educational needs. Teachers and parents can provide lists of spelling words, science terms, geographic locations, etc. which the students will then use in their word games. Students may also allow the computer to choose words and word lists from Word Stars 2.0's built-in dictionary of over 127,000 words. Some games also allow the student or a buddy to enter the words to be used. Most games have multiple levels of difficulty to allow use by different grade levels.
Word Stars by Class One Software is a flexible and challenging language teaching tool.

The games and activities are:

• Make Words: How many words can you make from a longer one?
• Scramble Words: Can you unscramble the words from the list? Timer or untimed.
• Spell Words: Hear the computer speak the list word, then you try to spell it.
• Extend Words: Create new words by adding a prefix and/or a suffix to the root word. Use the created word list or a provided 4-letter word list.
• Morph Words: Create a new word by changing one letter of the root word. Then do the same to the new word for more points.
• Find Words: Your word list is put into a traditional Word Find puzzle by the computer. Find the words for points.
• Master Word: Uses only the 4-letter word list. Guess the word by clues as to what letters are "correct but wrong place" and "correct in right place."
• Word Match: Uses the special Word Pairs list. Match the synonyms, antonyms, etc, in this Concentration style puzzle.
• Flash Cards:: Designed for quick practice of matching terms. Does not provide Word Stars points.
