Stronghold Kingdoms is a medieval village management and castle builder game that aims to be the perfect combination between a free massively multiplayer strategy game and an online social game.

The objective of this strategy game is, as you have probably guessed it, to take on the role of a medieval lord and built your own town and castle, develop your community’s economy, defend yourself from attackers, build new villages, attract new citizens, trade goods, improve tactics, find resources, etc.

Basically the game is an interesting mix of elements such as architecture, economy, military, agriculture, merchandise, industry, and politics. The game starts off with you having to choose a location from a semi-realistic map of the British Isles.

For the first part of the game you will be relatively alone, but, once a certain period of time has passed and you have developed your stronghold, the game becomes more dynamic as it sets itself apart from other strategy games with a high dose of politics involved.

Typically, you will spend lots of hours, days or even weeks trying to build the perfect stronghold, but, everything can transform to dust in the case of certain attacks from more powerful neighbors. Having strong relationships with other players and having a good understanding about the politics involved can become your ticket to survival.

Because the research field in this game can be a bit overwhelming to say the least, the game features a fairly easy to use research tab. Another important part of the game is scoring higher levels, as it unlocks new abilities and buildings.

While Stronghold Kingdoms’ graphics are not what you would call visually striking and the soundtrack doesn’t do much in terms of involving the player, the game more than makes up for this with is complex gameplay and social elements involved.

By now, it is quite clear that Stronghold Kingdoms is meant to be more of an online social game with common MMO and RTS elements that combined can offer hundreds of entertaining and interesting hours of gameplay.
