Stendhal for Mac
Stendhal is a vintage looking massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) in which you get to explore a virtual world and enlist to different adventures. The environment includes more than 250 NPCs (non-player characters) that will propose new quests and help you gain experience.
Entertaining adventure game that can be played right out of the box
The Stendhal game has been designed to run on Java so, if the Java runtime is present on your Mac, all you have to do is launch the appropriate jar file. However, to actually access the Stendhal universe, you must also create an account: based on your credentials the game will connect to the server and create a character.
Once inside the game, you get to explore houses, cities, forests, caves, mountains, dungeons, and so on. Various NPCs will guide you through the labyrinth, but you must accept different tasks in order to collect gold, experience, and other useful objects.
Protect the realm from evil monsters and help the ones weaker than you
Stendhal comes with a Travel Log that enables you to visualize the progress of your character: you start by performing uncomplicated tasks in order to gather the resources to protect the land from all sorts of monsters.
To improve your character you can use the gold you collect to buy a better armour or more efficient weapons. In addition, make sure to check the community chest to see if you can use the items that other players gave away.
Vintage styled adventure game based on an online community
Stendhal proposes new adventures and helps you meet new people in a virtual environment: enlist to quests, help the sick and the hungry, or play puzzle games, while interacting with both NPCs and real players. All in all, Stendhal has the potential of offering a rather entertaining pastime.
