A useful World of Warcraft add-on that records damage, healing and threat, in addition to other important statistics, and displays the information in the form of charts and graphs. #Damage meter #Healing meter #WoW add-on #WoW #Healing #Damage
DPS isn’t everything in World of Warcraft, but damage meters are invaluable when it comes to analyzing a player’s performance in order to figure out what can be improved.
In reality, add-ons such as Recount measure so many parameters that simply calling them damage meters fails to accurately describe their purpose.
Recount is, essentially, a complex raid analysis tool that measures damage and healing done as well as taken, friendly fire, deaths, DOT and HOT uptime, dispels, activity and threat level. All this information is displayed in the form of charts or graphs, and it can be shared with your raid or party members.
Recount has been one of the most widely-used WoW damage meters for many years, often being the go-to add-on for players who wished to analyze their own or their party members’ damage or healing output.
Nowadays, WoW players normally have to choose between Recount and Skada, and they offer various reasons for preferring either one.
The two add-ons each use different formulas for calculating DPS, and their accuracy in certain situations is still a matter of debate. However, Recount has a greater FPS impact, whereas Skada tends to run lighter.
Recount can be very helpful for both the raid and individual players, as it enables you to see how you stack up against your fellow raid members, as well as analyze your personal damage output.
Moreover, the add-on measures damage taken, healing, DOT and HOT uptime, as well as the number of dispels and interrupts. Threat is also tracked, letting your damage dealers know when they are close to aggroing the current target.
Recount provides several types of graphical representations to help you analyze the recorded data, from real-time bar charts to graphs and pie charts, and the add-on also offers a significant amount of customization options.
No self-respecting raid can do without a damage meter, and Recount does the job well, while also measuring a host of other useful statistics. It is a great tool for analyzing your raid’s actions over the course of an encounter, as well as each player’s individual performance.
